Here is a detailed free pattern for a moving mouth puppet made from just fabric. I’m sure the pattern will make up for more than just the puppet displayed on the page. Also this pattern seems to be easily modifiable. Altogether, it seems a bit like a free “Glorified Sock” pattern though it is not as detailed.

Project Puppet offers very pro-looking patterns, ranging from the simple “Glorified Sock Puppet Pattern” – whose basic shapes share some similarities with Kermit the Frog – to more complex polyfoam models. Regularily, they run puppet building contests around their patterns. As of writing this post, prices rage from $19.95 to $55.95.
